JERRY DAVIS - an incredible person and greatly respected member of the drag boat racing family- passed away Sunday, after a courageous battle with cancer. Please keep his beautiful wife Nancy in your thoughts and prayers. His service is today.
At Saturday's IHBA Championship Banquet, Jerry was announced as the recipient of the first "Don Ermshar Memorial Award" by fellow racer Andy Dement. This award will be given annually to someone who has shown many positive attributes, including exemplary behavior and sportsmanship, within drag boat racing.
You will be missed Jerry! God's peace be with you Nancy!

We want to thank everyone who came and "played" in Las Vegas last weekend for the IHBA 2009 Season Championship Banquet - it was awesome!!!
Congratulations again to all of the award winners and their teams! There may be one driver in a boat, but we all know it takes the driver plus family, crew and sponsors to make it go! Congrats again to everyone!!

A longtime friend to many drag boat racers, a Top Alcohol Flat boat owner and a great sponsor of drag boat racing, Gene Hackett, passed away yesterday. Gene was the president of ATTA (Aluminum Tank & Truck Accessories). Please keep his wife Debbie and Son Brad in your thoughts & prayers. Gene, thank you for all you did for drag boat racing and for being a top quality person ! You touched many!

CLARION HOTEL IN PHOENIX OFFERING NEW LOWER RATE FOR WORLD FINALS!
San Diego CA: The fastest mph in a Top Fuel Hydro was run in San Diego in September by Daryl Ehrlich, driving Eddie Knox's "Problem Child"... 265.52 mph!
Although it wasn't backed up to become a record, it is still the fastest run recorded! Congrats to the entire "Problem Child" team!

Everyone in the drag boat racing family has been deeply saddened by the news that Don Ermshar passed away August 27, 2009. Don was not only a great drag boat racer, he was an incredible person. Please keep his wife Phyllis in your thoughts and prayers during this obviously tough time.
Update: A memorial service will be held for Don Monday September 14 at 11:00am at Crestlawn Memorial Park 11500 Arlington Avenue Riverside California 92505 (phone 951-689-1441) There will be a graveside service immediately following, then a picnic Celebrating Don in Corona. Directions will be available at the service.

The return of Drag Boat Racing to High Point NC is this weekend, July 24-26!
Friday is Test & Tune, Saturday is Qualifying, Sunday is Eliminations!
The race is on Oak Hollow Lake~ located south of I-40 off Hwy 68, also called Eastchester Drive. Go approximately 3.5 miles and look for the event signs!
There will be drag boats like High Point has NEVER seen! Don't miss it!
